Hidden Lake

Situation:
Hidden Lake is a planned residential community of Single Family Estate and Attached Condominium homes in Livingston County, Michigan. The environmentally-friendly community boasts amenities such as fishing, swimming and boating on a private lake and miles of scenic walking trails while being within easy reach of upscale shopping, dining and major highways. Residents also enjoy numerous community activities. Motor City Interactive worked with Hidden Lake to drive consumers to their website by implementing a successful email campaign and other methods of interactive marketing.

Objectives:
  • Update their existing site to take advantage of some of today’s technologies
  • Build awareness and drive current customers to the website
  • Implement an email strategy to increase awareness amongst the target consumer group
Solution:
Motor City Interactive worked with Hidden Lake to redesign their website (http://www.hiddenlakeonline.com/), opting on switching from the less efficient flash setup the company was using at the time. Motor City also helped Hidden Lake put out a monthly newsletter for its current and prospective clients that served to keep these interested individuals aware of things of interest regarding the community and its budding membership. Additionally, a number of microsites were created by Motor City to be sponsored by Hidden Lake as a means of drawing customers to the company’s website. These sites related to outdoor activities and the communities in Michigan and the counties surrounding Hidden Lake in which potential Hidden Lake residents would be interested.

Results:
The new website was launched in Q1 2008 and has shown a 25% lift in traffic in the same quarter last year.  Email Communication has generated nearly a 15% response rate to their spring marketing offerings, generating sales in a tough economy.
